Several months went by with Valorie looking at other options, but eventually she decided to revisit what BCL had to offer. This is when Valorie met Pamela Garcia, who walked her through process and enrolled her in the eight- hour home-buying class, as well as referring her to a lender, who she says, “hit the floor moving on getting me into a home.” Valorie stated that Pamela was an integral part of the entire process, and “made me feel comfortable.” When asked if buying her home would have been feasible without BCL, she responded “I don’t think that it would have been possible because of what they [other lenders] were asking.” Comparing her experiences with other organizations and BCL, Valorie felt the experiences were night and day. As she said, the people at BCL enjoy “helping you get into a home, that’s their passion, that’s their love, that’s their drive because once you get a home, it makes them feel good about what they’re doing.” Valorie has since closed on her house in Buda and says, “I am just so excited!” Thanks to BCL, she is now enjoying a home she can call her own. When asked if there was anything else that she would like to say to potential homebuyers, she said “you never know unless you give it a try and at least if you go in and get information, then you know what direction to go.”
