At BCL of Texas, we believe small business owners need more than access to capital. They need a partner who takes the time to understand where they are, where they want to go, and what it will take to get there. For Isaac Anzaldua, owner of Next Concept Motorsports, that partnership with BCL began more than a decade ago, and eventually helped bring his family’s story full circle.

Isaac grew up in his grandfather’s auto body shop, Rodriguez Body Shop, where his love for restoring vehicles began. In 2008, he turned that passion into Next Concept Motorsports. But passion alone could not buy the tools and equipment the young business needed.

“The business was only a dream,” Isaac remembers. Customers were coming in and the need was there, but every time he saved toward major equipment, another expense would pull those funds away. In 2011, friends connected Isaac with the Luling Economic Development Corporation, which introduced him to BCL of Texas and our founder, Rosa Rios Valdez.

Other financial institutions saw Next Concept as a risk. Rosa saw Isaac’s vision.

She worked with him to develop a business plan and five-year strategy, while helping the young entrepreneur better understand what it would take to build a sustainable business.

“BCL took the time to help a young entrepreneur understand how to build a business. To BCL, Next Concept wasn’t just another applicant. We were a friend, and it showed.”

More than a decade later, Isaac called Rosa again.

This time, the shop where his grandfather and uncle had operated Rodriguez Body Shop in Gonzales, Texas, was for sale. Isaac had an opportunity to become the third generation of his family to own the property and bring Next Concept Motorsports home.

BCL wanted to help make it happen.

In August 2023, Next Concept Motorsports received a USDA Community Impact Loan through BCL to support the purchase. By May 2024, the business opened its doors at its new home at 1839 Saint Lawrence Street.

Today, customers still stop by and share stories about work Isaac’s grandfather and uncle once performed in the same building. Families who trusted Rodriguez Body Shop generations ago are now bringing their vehicles to Next Concept Motorsports.

For Isaac, that legacy is one of the greatest measures of success. So are the people who have grown alongside the business. His shop foreman has been with Next Concept for 17 years, longtime customers continue to return, and employees have built careers and raised families while being part of the company.

Isaac credits his wife, Kena, his team, his faith, and the people who believed in the business along the way.

And to another entrepreneur with a dream but unsure how to turn it into a business, his advice is simple:

“Make an appointment today with BCL. Sit down with them and discuss your goals and find out what it would take to achieve them. Trust me, you’ll be glad that you did.”
