The National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) recently announced that Pamela Garcia has been named a 2024 NALCAB Pete Garcia Community Economic Development fellow. Pamela currently serves as Corporate Strategies Coordinator at BCL of Texas.
The Pete Garcia Community Economic Development Fellowship is a year-long program that serves as a leadership training initiative tailored for Latino leaders nationwide. In the current cohort, 22 nonprofit professionals have been chosen to participate in this prestigious fellowship, which aims to nurture the next generation of Latino leaders.
Established in 2010, the Fellowship was developed to help Latino leaders build the practical, personal, and professional skills needed to fill the increasing leadership gap in the community economic development field. It offers mid-career Latino practitioners specialized training in professional development, equipping them to emerge as robust candidates for executive director roles at nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving Latino communities. More information about the program can be viewed at: https://nalcab.org/services/pete-garcia-fellowship/
To date, the NALCAB Pete Garcia Fellowship has graduated 184 program participants from across the country, representing 114 unique nonprofit organizations in 26 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
